The triplets are growing so fast.  I know I say that all the time.  But it's true.  Just look...

Bo Duke Style

We've had the cozy coupe a week or two now and the kids still love it!  But Lucas by far has the biggest love affair with the coupe.  He thinks it is "his" car only and doesn't hesitate to pull one of his siblings out if he wants a turn.  (Trying to teach and discipline three 18-month old toddlers is a story all on its own.  But we'll save that for another day.) But the funniest thing about Luke is that he refuses to use the car door to get in and out of the coupe.  He only wants to go through the window "Bo Duke" style.  He knows how to use the door.  He gets how it works.  He's sees Jake and Sarah using it.  But he only climbs in through the window.  NASCAR in his future???  We shall see.

200 Posts and 5,000 points later...

This post marks the 200th blog post I've written since I started just after we found out the triplets were on the way.  My first post was on July 17, 2011.  What a crazy 2 years this has been!  Since the triplets made their debut, we have been steadily collecting "Pampers Points" in the hopes of redeeming them for a big prize.  Well after 18 months of faithful collecting, we finally had enough (5,000) to get the Cozy Coupe car.  The box arrived on our doorstep and the kids were instantly intrigued.

And now they love the finished product!  Until the kids get potty-trained we will keep on collecting.  More prizes to come!

What's up doc?

This morning, we took the kids for their 18 month check-up.  As usual, Dr. Roberts and the nurses were excited to see them.  Everyone commented on how fast the trio has grown.  Today their measurements were:

Sarah- 23lbs. 6ozs. (40th percentile) and 32 inches (60th percentile)
Jacob- 25lbs. 6ozs. (44th percentile) and 32 inches (42nd percentile)
Lucas- 25lbs. 0ozs. (39th percentile) and 33 inches (70th percentile)

We had to complete a development survey and each of the kiddos scored excellent!  Sarah had met all the milestones with Luke missing just 1 and Jake missing just 2.  They are right on track!  The doc was not at all concerned that the boys cannot clearly say as many words as Sarah.  Dr. Roberts says this is very common among boys and girls.  The only "homework" he gave us before our next visit (2 year check up) is to begin talking about going potty with the kids.  He doesn't expect we will even begin potty training until sometime after their second birthday, but he said it's a good idea to start introducing the concepts now. 

Today the kids had to each have 2 vaccinations.  But now they are completely done until age 4 with the exception of a seasonal flu shot.  I know they are happy about that!  We just pray that the kids will be healthy through these next few months and we don't have to see Dr. Roberts again until their 2 year check up in January. 

Rockin' the Reunion

My grandmother, along with her sister and brother, put together a family reunion cookout that was held this past weekend- July 9th.  They've been talking about wanting to do it for years, but this year they finally made it happen.  So we loaded up the kids in the minivan and headed about 2 hours north & west to Rockmart.  Before my Great Grandparents died, we made several of these trips each year.  But since they've been gone (about the last 10 years) we've only been a handful of times.  I really want to get in the habit of making these trips more often.  I have so many memories of time spent out in the "country" and I want that for my kiddos too.  Nothing will replace Maw Maw Owen's grilled cheese sandwiches, playing Uno cards for hours at a time, or climbing the big tree out back, but there are still good times to be had. 


Yvonne & Edwin hosted the cookout at their house and we had a great time!  The only downside was the kids were so tired from all the fun and almost no nap at all, that they just screamed their heads off when we got home.  We put them to bed early and they slept from 7pm to 9am the next morning.  We learned our lesson... our kids MUST have at least 1 good nap to survive the day.  They were miserable!  But it was worth the trip to see everyone, especially all the kids that have been born since we were last there.

6 months vs. 18 months

The journey from July 2010 to July 2011.  This time last year I was prepping for a business trip to Michigan.  I was super stressed at how I was going to pump, store, and travel with a week's worth of milk.  I had roughly 200 ounces of milk packed into little milk storage bags.  I sure am glad to not be a milk factory anymore! 

Just can't keep a straight face!

This weekend was the July 4th holiday and we had LOTS of fun!!!  Saturday we had the Trenary clan over for some pool time and a cookout.  The babies loved going to the pool!  Sunday I had lunch with Dana and Heather and then later went to a party at Carolyn and Rollin's house.  We did use the illegal Alabama fireworks I scored last week while working in West Point.  Contraband fireworks are always the best!  On Monday Terry came over to spend some time with his favorite (and only) neice and nephews.  They just love their Uncle Scary!  There was so much fun and laughter throughout the weekend, we caught the kids making all kinds of funny faces.  Here are a few!
